In my last post, I wrote about Kelis controversial Grammy outfit, watch a video of Kelis and Nas explaining it to the CNN audience after the jump.

Many artists strive to be innovative. Kelis does it naturally. Now nine years after her first release, Kelis are set to release her greatest hits album, ‘The Hits’, on March 3rd.
The New York born artist has always been in her own league, a singer and entertainer that others look to for inspiration.
“The Hits” features songs from her four albums; “Kaleidoscope”, “Wanderland”, “Tasty” and “Kelis Was Here”, plus some key collaborations with Ol’ Dirty Bastard (Got Your Money), Richard X (Finest Dreams), and N*E*R*D (Truth Or Dare).
The album is available for pre-order on amazon.com, it will be released in the US on on Mar 11, 2008 through Jive Records (March 4 in Europe). Here’s amazon’s product description:

2008 Annual Grammy Awards
As you probably know Kelis & Nas attended the Grammy Awards yesterday, rocking a somewhat controversial outfit. Below is Nas’ explanation to the whole situation, given to rollingstone.com (images from the event, and some other Grammy related events will fallow)
When the awards were finally underway, Nas strolled backstage into the press room and caused a stir by wearing a black T-shirt with silver lettering that read Nigger, which is of course the name of his next album. “This album [will hopefully] open some awareness in our community and everywhere. We felt like shaking it up with something real,” he explained. Nas acknowledged that the album title and his shirt (wife Kelis was wearing a matching black tank) will cause people to “go crazy about it. But it’s cool … It’s the perfect time for it. I’m thirty-four years old — a husband, a father, a brother, a son — and me and my wife have to go on trial for just hanging outside, just being us,” he added, referring to Kelis’ March 2007 arrest in Miami Beach for allegedly screaming racial obscenities at two cops. “So that is why I had to stick with the title. A lot of people experience racial shit and they want to sweep it until the rug. As much as I’d like for this word to go away, the reality of it is so strong.” Don’t expect to see the couple’s reality show air anytime soon. They nixed it after not being happy with the first episode. Nas said, “It was boring, so we said no.”

Kelis The Hits
As reported before, according to most of the online music retailers in the UK Kelis is releasing a best off album on March 3, 2008. The above image is said to be the cover. The track listing released for now, has no new track. All singles are there, some collaborations and Suspended, witch seams quite out of place. Full track listing below. Note that these things are rarely final at this point, and tend to change a lot.
